This bulky handspun art yarn was created by me from an art batt I lovingly carded using some of my favourite fibres. It’s made mostly of monochrome natural grey and white merino and BFL wools, with some hand dyed black mohair and red silk thrums mixed in for that cheeky extra pop of colour.

I core spun the fibres and then plied the resulting yarn with silver thread, creating a sparkly skein that is fun to look at and just oh so squishy. There’s a total of 102 yards or 93 meters for you to enjoy.

Chunky yarn is great to create quick knitting or crochet projects such as beanie hats. They’re also great yarns for highlights in your project, such as a border or an accent area. Core spun yarn is also fantastic for weaving because the textures really pop.

This handspun art yarn is one-of-a-kind, so whatever you create with it will also be truly unique and special.

About handspun art yarns

Hand spun art yarns are special and full of character. They have a personality that commercial yarn just can’t get close to. Each yard of fibre has passed through the spinner’s loving hand to become what it is now: a glorious, squishy skein waiting for your imagination to turn into a knitting or crochet project you can be proud of.

When crafting with a skein of handspun art yarn, you are picking up the spinner’s work, continuing the fibre’s journey, and making it your own.

Be a part of this amazing handmade artistry.

A note on colour accuracy

Please be aware that although the colours of this yarn show true on my monitor, they vary on your screen depending on your monitor settings.

  • Keep yarn in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the skein to avoid squishing it.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
