Description
Who doesn’t need more colour in their lives? Enter this bright orange hand spun yarn that you won’t be able to ignore.
This Shetland wool and tweed blend was a pleasure to handle, the wool was super sleek and it wanted to be spun thin – this means you get more yardage (a total of 330) that usual in this 100g skein.
I chain-plied this yarn, which means the thread structure is rounder than a 2-ply but equally bouncy. A pleasure to knit, crochet or weave!
The tweed bits are lovely to behold, an added bit of texture to an already flame-y yarn.
This yarn would make a lovely shawl, and if you want to create something larger, you can either pair it with another 4 ply/fingering weight yarn in a darker colour for the orange to really pop, or tone it down slightly by adding a blue yarn.
Whatever you knit or crochet with it, you’re sure to stand out from the crowd.
The journey of this hand spun yarn began with me but it goes on with you
Hand spun yarns are such amazing gems of crafting wonder that commercial yarns just can’t get close to.
I have lovingly spun each fun orange yard on my wheel, but the journey of this skein doesn’t end here – it continues with you, your crafting project and your imagination.
What an amazing thing that a hand crafted bit of wool can begin its journey with one person and continue with someone else, and how lovely is it to be a part of that?
