I plied two threads together, making this a 2-ply construction. Since this handspun yarn is so chunky, it has a very well defined roundness to it, making it great for projects where stitch definition is a must.
Super chunky yarn is fabulous for quick knitting or crochet projects such as beanie hats. This yarn is waiting for you to turn it into something glorious to hang out in your very own handmade wardrobe.
What is autowrap in hand spinning?
Auto-wrap is when you add a fibre to your spinning/plying process but don’t hold on to it, you let it do its thing – this means it’ll wrap randomly around the yarn as you spin it, creating a beautiful, nearly messy overlay on it. As I was spinning this yarn, I let a lovely red thread auto-wrap around the skein, which created a beautiful sparkly detail all over.
A little word about handspun yarns
Hand spun yarns are special and full of character. They have a personality that commercial yarn just can’t get close to. Each yard of fibre has passed through the spinner’s loving hand to become what it is now: a glorious, squishy skein waiting for your imagination to turn into a knitting or crochet project you can be proud of.
When crafting with handspun, you are picking up the spinner’s work, continuing the fibre’s journey, and making it your own.
Be a part of this amazing handmade artistry.
