Description

“Who Broke This?” is a semi-solid lace weight purple violet speckled yarn, with magenta undertones with subtle hints of dark blue-grey here and there. The name of this colourway was inspired by my felines in residence and is part of my Cattitude Collection.

This colour way was hand dyed in my Ariadne Lace base, a lovely merino and silk blend (80/20). There are 1200 meters to each skein, plenty to knit a big shawl or even a laceweight blouse (garments knit with lace yarns take longer to finish but the end result can be magnificent).

The last photo of this listing shows two skeins of the same colourway dyed in different yarn bases. They are shown only as an example of other product possibilities and are not part of this listing sale.

Since designer indie-dyed yarns are created in small batches, differences may be expected between them and even within the same batch. Because of this, I advise you to purchase as many skeins as needed for your project, and alternate them to avoid pooling and colour mismatches. Find out more in our Fibre Bases and Info page.

Colour and yarn base disclaimer

I’ve done my best to convey the true colours of this violet speckled yarn, but please note that the original runs a little more on the lavender side that the deep blue depicted here. Please also note that your monitor settings might differ from mine and colours might show differently on your end.

The same colourway can show differently depending on the yarn bases and their fibre composition, so do take this into account if you are ordering Who Broke This? in a different base.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Keep yarn in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the skein to avoid squishing it.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
