Description
This hand spun yarn was such a joy to create. The wool top it came from was dyed by an indie dyer I love and the colours are an ode to Spring, with their soft yellows, the shiny blues and greens, the lovely purples and pinks… they all complement each other beautifully and the barber poling effect blends them together in harmony.
Comprised of 70% BFL wool and 30% SeaCell, this is one very soft yet sturdy worsted weight yarn. SeaCell is a very shiny and soft cellulose fibre made from seaweed and eucalyptus. Resembling silk, it adds an extra loveliness to the colours and feel of the yarn when crafting and wearing.
You’ve got 113 yards to play with. I started the adventure by hand spinning this fibre, now it’s your turn to continue the wool’s creative journey.
The journey of this hand spun yarn is yours, too
A hand spun yarn has a special character that a commercial yarn just can’t get close to. Each meter of fibre has passed through this spinner’s loving hand to become what it is now: a glorious, squishy and shiny skein waiting for your imagination to turn into the perfect knitting or crochet project you can be proud of.
When you craft with a hand spun yarn, you are picking up the spinner’s work, continuing the fibre’s journey, and making it your own.
You are a part of this amazing handmade artistry.
