Description

“Who Broke This?” is a semi-solid violet purple speckled yarn with magenta undertones. If you’re owned by feline overlords, the name of this yarn should be something you’re familiar with… RIP several plant vases and two bed lamps.

It is dyed in my Gaia Sock base, which is a fabulously squishy all-rounder for any type of project asking for sock/fingering weight wool. It’s a merino/nylon blend in 75/25 proportion, making it great for both soft knitted and crocheted jumpers or sturdy socks alike.

This rather lovely semi-solid violet purple speckled yarn is part of the Cattitude Collection and it can be purchased in other yarn bases as well.

The last photo shows this colourway in Kitten Lace, a mohair/silk blend and is not part of this listing’s sale.

This is a repeatable colourway. If you’d like a larger quantity of skeins, please contact me and I’ll be happy to custom dye them for you.

Small-batch dyed yarns

Designer indie-dyed yarns such as this are created in small batches, differences may be expected between dye lots (and, depending on the dyeing techniques used, even within the same batch). Because of this, I advise you purchase as many skeins as needed for your project and alternate them to avoid pooling and colour mismatches.

Find out more in our Fibre Bases and Info page.

Colour accuracy and this yarn

I’ve done my best to reflect the true colours of this yarn, but bear in mind that if your monitor settings differ from mine, they may show up differently on your end.

I am also referring to “Who Broke This?” as a violet purple yarn instead of just “purple” to differentiate it from red-purple hues. You know, just in case you’re a stickler for that kind of thing was much as I am.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Keep yarn in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the skein to avoid squishing it.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
