Description

Anyone owned by cats will know where the name for this yarn came from. “Stop Eating the Flowers!” is a yellow semi-solid speckled yarn with some lovely red, green and blue speckles. It is a homage to all the times we’ve had to stop our feline overlords from treating our plant collections like their personal salad bar.

“Stop Eating the Flowers!” is dyed in my Gaia Sock base, which is a great merino/nylon (75/25) squishy all-rounder for any type of project asking for sock/fingering weight wool. Double it with mohair and you’ll get the most squishy, cosy and warm garment of all times.

This yarn is part of the Cattitude Collection and is a repeatable colourway

This listing is only for the sock/fingering weight version of this lovely yellow semi-solid speckled yarn, but you can purchase this colourway as a dyed-to-order listing in my other yarn bases.

The beauty of indie dyed yarns

Because designer indie-dyed yarns are created in small batches, differences are to be expected between dye lots (and often even in the same batch). Because of this, I advise you buy as many skeins as needed for your project and alternate them to avoid pooling and colour mismatches.

Find out more in our Fibre Bases and Info page.

Colour accuracy

This yarn colourway is showing as sunny and yellow as real life on my end, but please bear in mind that your monitor settings might differ from mine and therefore appear differently on your end. Thanks for understanding.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Keep yarn in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the skein to avoid squishing it.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
