Bulky single ply hand spun yarn – green, purple, plum – 278 yards

A rather beautiful single ply hand spun yarn in shades of violet, plum, periwinkle and green. It sparkles, too – there’s bits of stellina here and there throughout.

The important bits at a glance:

  • 278 yards/254 meters approximate total length
  • Mostly bulky/chunky weight
  • Single-ply: you get the most of the hand dyed colours of this yarn this way, in an uber soft construction
  • fibres: merino wool and sparkle

Love me a yarn in sophisticated coordinating  colours! This mostly chunky (or bulky) single ply hand spun yarn is definitely squishy and a bit sparkly, but what makes me swoon is how the shades of plum, periwinkle, violet and greens play with each other.

Single-ply yarns are by nature a bit more fragile in nature (no plying to add an extra layer of strength) so I recommend you make something that won’t have to endure a lot of friction: a cowl or a beanie hat are great choices. There’s 278 yards of merino goodness for you to knit, crochet or weave with, so the only limit is your imagination.

Hand spun yarns are special

Hand spun yarns have a bounce and character that ommercial yarns just can’t begin to compete with.

Although I have lovingly spun each yard on my wheel, this yarn’s journey doesn’t end there –  it continues with you, your project and your imagination.

Add to the story of this hand spun yarn by making something lovely with it!

Please note on colour accuracy

Although the colours on this listing run true on my monitor, they can vary on yours depending on your settings.

  • Keep yarn in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the skein to avoid squishing it.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
