Description

Who’s craving colour? This vivid organic merino wool top will brighten your spinning and felting days as you go from saturated violets to neon pinks and happy blues. All the colours go perfectly together so your finished yarn will look gorgeous no matter how you choose to spin this.

You’ve got a total of 100 grams of combed wool to play with. It is certified organic 23 micron Merino, as soft as they come. Perfect for spinning or felting next-to-skin projects.

Is organic merino a wool top or a roving?

You might be asking yourself, “Eleanor calls this fibre wool top but I’ve heard it being also called roving. Which is it?”

I’m glad you asked! This is combed wool top, because the short staples have been removed and all the fibres are facing the same direction.

Wool roving, on the other hand, still retains some shorter fibres and not all face the same direction, so it will have a fuzzier appearance.

Colour disclaimer

I’ve done my best to match these photos with real life colour, but neons are understandably hard to capture without looking blown-out (they’re that bright!)

Also, please note that your monitor settings might differ from mine, so what looks accurate on my end might look slightly different on yours.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Keep wool top/roving or art batts in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the fibre to avoid squishing it.
Handle silk hankies with moisturised hands to avoid them sticking to your skin.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
