Skinny rolags for the win
What are rolags? They’re tubes of fibre that you spin by pulling and drafting on one end, and then adding twist on a wheel or spindle. These are great if you like to do a more woollen spinning, or if you fancy the colours of art batts but without all the bulk.
I was experimenting when I created these rolags, so they ended up skinnier than my usual ones. They’re still perfect for spinning. The total weight is still 50g.
These rolags were made with merino and BFL wools, bamboo, sparkle and textured silk. Remember those hard candy balls you bought off the machines as a child (am I ageing myself now?) They were real jaw breakers but oh so fun to bite into. The colour combos (red, white, yellow and just a smidge of rich brown) and those of my memory. The gold sparkle is just there as a nod to how magical those balls of hard candy were to me.
