Description

Say hello to the squishiest and most lovely pink and blue single ply fingering yarn. Dyed in my Selene Sock base, it is squishier than plied yarns and takes up colour differently, too. There’s a shine and definition that’s unique to this yarn base.

This speckled and variegated yarn was dyed using multiple techniques. The teal blue was added after the speckles and you can see them show through everywhere. The blues and purples pair up perfectly with the darker, almost-red pink.

Cauldron of Misfits colourways are unique, created on a whim for fun without any particular structure. The results yield unexpected combinations that strike the eye, but can never be repeated ever again. As such, if you love it, snag it – once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.

Selene sock has a total of 366 meters or 400 yards. This skein will look fantastic on its own, but also paired with other colour combinations such as semi solids.

Despite my best efforts, the blue shown in these photos is slightly deeper in real life and more teal than turquoise (at least as they appear in my monitor).

The last photo shows another yarn dyed in the same session, using the same techniques but overdyed green. It is sold separately in another listing.

Colour accuracy

Please note: blues and greens sometimes give my cameras a hard time. The blue you see in the photos is slightly deeper, and more teal than turquoise. I’ve tried my best to reflect the true shades of this yarn but, as stated, there are still differences, bear this in mind before purchasing.

Also, bear in mind that my monitor’s settings can be different from yours.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Keep yarn in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the skein to avoid squishing it.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
