Description

These super soft Texel cross lamb carded wool batts come from the sheep’s first shear, making them a delight to work with.

carefully processed this fleece myself, from raw wool to carded batt.

This fibre is natural white in colour and comes from a high-welfare British farm, where the shepherdess cares deeply for her flock. Each animal has a name – this sheep is called Yellow.

Looking for a different breed? Check out these Pedigree Suffolk batts from the same farm.

I have carded the wool twice to make sure it is as smooth as can be for your project, be in spinning, wet or needle felting, dyeing or to use as core wool. Please be aware there might be a small amount of vegetable matter remaining, despite my best efforts – happy lambs play outdoors and can get messy!

The batts come in two different weights (50g and 100g). Pictures show a different breed but rest assured your batts will be as fluffy, squishy and soft as the ones depicted.

A little disclaimer on colour

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Keep wool top/roving or art batts in a dry room away from direct sunlight. Airtight boxes are recommended. Don’t place anything heavy on top of the fibre to avoid squishing it.
Handle silk hankies with moisturised hands to avoid them sticking to your skin.
  • I recommend adding lavender sachets to the storage container for pest prevention.
  • Hand wash your finished product separately using wool-specific detergents, dry flat. Hand dyed fibres may bleed a little in the first couple of washes.
