Description
The colours present are rich blues, pinks, violets and purples, which I plied with some hand spun yellow silk yarn for extra textural interest. There’s also a bit of sparkle added in for that extra oomph.
The yarn was core spun. Since the silk yarn I plied it with is much thinner, you get this very lovely and fun bubble appearance to it, which would look marvellous on any project where texture is queen. The weight (thickness) of the skein varies slightly here and there, going from Bulky to Worsted.
The colour sequence varies but the skein is self-striping, meaning each colour will repeat itself as you knit, crochet or weave, making the blues, purples, pinks and yellow really pop. Glorious!
About core spun art yarns
A core spun art yarns – or any handspun yarn for that matter – is extra special and full of character. Each skein has a personality that commercial yarns just can’t ever get close to. Each meter of fibre has passed through the spinner’s expert hand to become what it is now: a glorious, squishy skein waiting for your imagination to turn into a knitting or crochet project you can be proud of.
When crafting with handspun yarn, you are picking up the spinner’s work, continuing the fibre’s journey, and making it your own.
You become a proud part of this amazing handmade artistry.
